Description

The Album Plasmic is a high-performance twin-fin surfboard designed to pack a large amount of volume into a very short, compact frame.  It is widely considered one of the best “grovelers” for small, weak waves, though its unique bottom contour allows it to handle much larger, even barreling conditions.

Key Design Features

• Bottom Contour: Features a “wild” deep double-barrel concave that runs through the tail. This acts like a channel, generating instant lift and speed while providing grip through turns.
• Outline & Tail: It has a chunky, fish-like entry with a diamond tail. The diamond tail allows your back foot to sit further back, giving you more drive out of a shorter rail-line compared to a traditional swallow tail.
• Deck & Rails: A flat deck profile keeps foam distributed to the edges, paired with low apex rails for easy rail engagement and efficient paddling.
• Rocker: Very low entry rocker, similar to a traditional fish, which keeps more of the board in contact with the water for maximum speed.

Performance & Sizing

• Wave Type: Excels in knee-high to head-high waves (2–6 ft).
• Sizing Advice: According to Album, you should ride this board 3–5 liters more than your standard shortboard and significantly shorter than your height.
• Fin Setup: Best paired with upright twin fins for a skatey, snappy feel, though keels can be used for a more “cruisy” style with drawn-out turns.
