Being in the water from sunset to dark is my favorite time. The setting sun provides a colorful backdrop and evokes a feeling that’s hard to explain. The boards name and colors are a tribute this magic time spent in the water.
The Velvet Hour is a classic Australian styled “log” made popular in the late 60s. Its wide point is slotted back from the center creating a pivot point designed to increase maneuverability and more area in the tail area. The wider tail also helps to create additional lift which is perfect for nose riding. Especially while in the pocket!.
Supported by a concave bottom, the relatively narrow nose profile gives the board extra hold and control in steep tight pockets when tip riding. This combination of design elements gives you a board that nose rides seamlessly and a pivot point which allows a board to be super maneuverable.
